GLADBROOK - Eli Thede turned Gladbrook-Reinbeck's first touch into a touchdown, returning a punt 45 yards for a score and sparking the Rebels' 58-6 triumph over Twin Cedars on Friday night. Thede added a 61-yard touchdown reception to make it 22-0 Rebels on the next-to-last play of the first quarter, and G-R rolled to its fifth-straight 8-Man District 5 victory. Keagan Giesking had a pick-six and a pair of touchdown runs, while Colton Clark, Jackson Kiburis and Tom Smith each got in on the scoring with touchdown runs for Gladbrook-Reinbeck (5-2, 5-0), which has outscored district competition 325-28. The Rebels outgained Twin Cedars (4-4, 3-2) by a 315-111 margin in total yards while recording four takeaways. Clark led G-R with 80 rushing yards on seven carries, while Giesking (54) and Smith (51) each carried five times. Kiburis completed two of only three passing attempts for 75 yards, with Thede (61) and Aiden Wyatt (14) making catches for the Rebels. Gladbrook-Reinbeck goes on the road to face AGWSR (5-2, 5-0) next Friday in Ackley in a game to decide the district champion.
